Buster murdered a squirrel

Next week will be Buster’s 4th of 5 chemo sessions. In the meantime, about a week ago, he fulfilled his lifelong dream and life purpose of killing a squirrel. Yeah I was sad and horrified, but also he’s a jack Russell, and if someone had told me after his amputation that he would still manage to pull this off i would never have believed it. It is possible there was something wrong with the squirrel but I’m not going to take this accomplishment away from him. So he’s doing amazing.

Buster has been losing some fur from doxorubicin, but no one except me would notice. He’s not bald. Overall he has been doing fantastic and no real side effects from the chemo except for fur loss.

  1. GOOD JOB VUSTER!!! YOU ARE A MASTER SQUIRREL WRANGLER! AND ON THREE LEGS…..VERY IMPRESSIVE!!!😁😀

Confidential…this is just for your Mom to read, so move along. Shhhh…..yeah, Im6 mortified too, but I prefer to think that something was ‘wrong” with the Squirrel too. So Buster did the Squirrel a favor to “release” him. YEAH, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

I’m so thrilled to jear how well Buster is doing! He’s been on a quite a journey with his “treatments” and I’m so glad he’s wrapping them up.

He’s going to have a big CELEBRATION PAWTY. right? Ice cream and cake, right?? Squirrelburger maybe?? Of coirse, only one tjat as “expired” due to mold age😎

    Hugs
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

    1. I forgot to respond to this when you posted it. It made me laugh. The ongoing support of the tripawds community has been so helpful to me even when lately things are better and less traumatic than this summer. Thank you!

  2. I just read this to Baxter, and he’s very jealous. He says if Buster will give him some tips on catching squirrels, he’ll give Buster some on catching rabbits.

Glad to read that Buster is handling his chemo treatments well. Keep it up Buster (but maybe go a bit easier on the squirrels).

  3. Congratulations Buster on fulfilling your life long dream with the squirrel. Who needs 4 legs anyways! Dreams can be made with 3!

  4. Congrats Buster! Sebastian loved chasing squirrels, even on three legs. I remember I caught him on camera nearly catching fully healthy squirrels running at fast speeds, so no doubt Buster could do the same. Congrats on doing well!
